Eloise Head Howard, 87, of Louisville, formerly of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at her residence in Louisville with her loving family by her side.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven.

Eloise was born Aug. 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph Ernest and Mary Annie Boone Head. She also was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Howard; and her siblings, Theresa Mae Boone, Susie Raible Sr., Suzanne Head OSU, Bernard Head, Joseph Head, Cletus Head and Cyril Head.

Eloise is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Maurice Howard; her children, JoAnn (Mike) Ritchie, Emma Howard (Mike Cassady), Alan Howard, Elizabeth (Shaunty) Tharp, Maureen (Rick) Mitchell, Michelle (Joel) Shaw and Susan (Dan) Kronk; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Julian Head. She also would want to recognize Jeannie Bowling Watkins, her daughter of the heart, along with her nieces, nephews, cousins and host of many friends.

A Mass of Christian burial for Eloise Head Howard is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Scott Wimsett officiating. Burial is in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery in New Haven. A prayer service is at 5 p.m. Friday in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with Deacon Stephen Bowling officiating.

Maurice Anthony Howard, of Louisville, formerly of New Haven, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Maurice was sustained through his life by his deep spiritual faith and was an active member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church for 92 years. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of
World War II and retired from the Bank of New Haven.
He was born Jan. 31, 1924, the son of the late Ivo and Emma Dawson Howard. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 66 years, Mary Eloise Head Howard; a son, Anthony Howard; and a sister, Mary Howard Baldwin.
He is survived by his children, JoAnn (Mike) Ritchie, Emma Howard (Mike Cassady), Alan Howard, Elizabeth Tharp (Shaunty), Maureen Mitchell (Rick), Michelle Shaw (Joel) and Susan Kronk (Dan); a sister, Myra Forrester; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Chuch in New Haven with the Rev. Chris Lubecke, the Rev. Scott Wimsett and Deacon Steven Bowling officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine of Alexanderia Catholic Church Cemetery with full military rites with the Marion County Honor Guard officiating. There will be a prayer service Thursday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home with Deacon Steven Bowling officiating.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, and 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, until the time of the service at William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St. in New Haven.
Due to the constraint of the season, the bereavement room will not be open. If you are unable to join us, please enjoy your families and keep us in your prayers.
