Mary Howard Baldwin, 91, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at University of Louisville Hospital.
She was a native of Nelson County and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She worked for more than 25 years in publications at Fort Knox. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Baldwin Jr.; her husband, Joseph Francis Kareth; and her parents, Ivo and Emma Dawson Howard. She is survived by a son, J. Michael (Carol) Baldwin of Elizabethtown; a brother, Maurice Howard of New Haven; a sister, Myra Forrester of Fairfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Mark (Kamala) Thompson, Dr. Thomas (Amy) Baldwin, Charles Baldwin and his fiancé, Katie Hayden, Chandra (Gary) Boling and Rebecca Baldwin; and five great-grandchildren, Sophia and Caitlin Thompson and Mason, Evie and Eliza Baldwin. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 9 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A prayer vigil is at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
