“My mom was also a graphic designer; she and my father both attended Cooper Union (at different times) and founded a firm in NYC called Ross, Culbert, and Lavery Inc. My mother eventually went back to school and became an elementary school teacher, but she and my father continued to run the business until my dad retired around 2018. 

My grandfather Andrew worked for the firm part-time after he officially retired, too, mostly for fun I think.”
