Frederick Fabian Howard Jr, 63, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred F. and Mary Brooks (Williams) Howard.
Fabian graduated from Kentucky Military Institute and attended Elizabethtown Community College prior to working as a master plumber in the Fort Knox area. He was part owner of Abraham Lincoln's Boyhood Home before it became a National Park.
Fabian was a self-taught long-range target shooter, winning several State level competitions. He was an avid hunter who treasured hunting trips with friends and family.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Mary Brooks Logan, of Niceville, Fla.; a nephew, a niece and numerous cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Sherwood Inn in New Haven.
A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven with interment to follow at Red Hill Cemetery, 309 S. Greensburg St., in Hodgenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UK Neuroscience Institute or KY Human Needs Fund at the University of KY, Office of Philanthropy, P.O. Box 34184, Lexington, KY 40588.
