Mrs. Cora Howell Skaggs, of near Buffalo, age 80 years, died Thursday at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home here. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jane Abell, of near Buffalo, and Mrs. Alene Crunch, Louisville; one son, Ernest Skaggs, Buffalo; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister, mrs. George Hedgespeth, Louisville, and three brothers, Ivy Howell and Jess Howell, both of Louisville, and Arthur Howell, Buffalo. The body was at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home until burial at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church near Buffalo.

Larue County Herald News, June 21, 1956:
Walter Franklin Skaggs, age 56 years, a farmer of the Pleasant Ridge section, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at his home of a heart attack. He had been ill several months but had worked on his farm all day Monday.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Howell Skaggs; a son, Ernest B. Skaggs, of Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Rhea Hill Abell, of Buffalo, and Mrs. Roy Lee Abell, of Louisville; one brother, Victor Skaggs, Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Warren and Miss Cynthia Skaggs, of this city; his step-mother, Mrs. Alfred Skaggs, Hodgenville, and five grandchildren.
The body was at Williams Miller & Sego Funeral Home until four o'clock yesterday afternoon when it was taken to his late residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Burial with Masonic rites will be in the church cemetery.
