Lived near Holy Cross, KY. He erected the first mill on the Rolling Fork river. His father, Basil Sr., had a mill on Pottinger’s Creek. During a cholera epidemic on 7/20/1833, Basil Jr. was at his mill when he was struck by cholera and died. A fulldescription of his water wheel and mill is given in the administration of his account on 1/2/1834. After Mary’s death the farm was sold including a water grist mill, a distillery in good order, and an orchard of one hundred and fifty apple trees.
