COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 1962
Leonard A. Peak, 81, a retired maintenance man for the Donaldson Baking Company and Holy Name School, died at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday [October 16, 1962] at the Guthrie Nursing Home. He lived at 1754 Gaulbert. He was a native of Elizabethtown. Survivors are his wife, the former Mary Ellen Skees; four daughters, Sister Mary Ellenita, Miss Lula Mae Peak, Miss Mary Agnita Peak and Mrs. Carcus C. Cook; a son, William A. Peak; four sisters, Miss Zorado Skees, Elizabethtown, Mrs. Cecilia Hayden, Mrs. Virginia Gardner, and Mrs. Gillie Pearl Lewis; a brother, C. Richard Peak; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. George Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery at Elizabethtown, KY. The body is at the O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2727 S. Third.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Skees Peak, 82, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday [June 23, 1966] at her home, 1754 Gaulbert. she was a native of Hardin County, KY. Survivors include four daughters, Sister Mary Ellenita, the Misses Lula Mae and Mary Agnita Peak and Mrs. Marcus C. Cook; a son, William A. Peak, Pleasure Ridge Park; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2727 S. Third, and 9 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 18th and Standard. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Elizabethtown, KY. The body will be at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday.
