HISTORY OF THE JOHNNY BOONE FAMILY
Johnny Boone lived about one mile north of Highway 31E, between Balltown and Bardstown, Kentucky, Grandfather Johnny Boone's wife was Katy Greenwell; her mother was a Medley. Grandmother Boone was an aunt of Drues (?), Ignatious and the father of Dr. Greenwell of Bardstown and Dr. Greenwell of New Haven, Kentucky.
From Webb's history and Uncle William Boone says Daniel Boone and the Boones in Kentucky were distant related. Uncle William said he had heard the relationship traced back to Daniel Boone. From history the Boones first settled in Maryland then some emigrated to Kentucky and Virginia.
Grandfather Johnny Boone and his wife's remains were buried in St. Thomas' Cemetery. Grandfather Johnny Boone died early in life. Grandmother Boone lived to be about 80 years old. Grandfather Boone had five children. Robert had 2 children, Eliza married a Dewpen, Lizzie married a Flafe. Leo married a Burch them married a Boone, had one son. William married a Boone, had one son by the name of Frank. Leo and William's wives were sisters. Elizabeth Frances Boone was born June 5, 1834 and died September 7, 1878. John Boone married, never had any children.
Austin Howard and Elizabeth Frances Boone were married November 22, 1853 and raised 5 children and 2 died quite young. Frances Milburn was born April 4, 1855 and died 1908. Thomas Willard was born February 12, 1857 and died 1936. Samual Ignatious was born December 29, 1860 and died 1934. Emily Lillie Bell was born June 18, 1863 and died August 4, 1923. Boone Cyrus was born July 9, 1865 and died [1957].
William Bell and Emily Lillie Bell were married at Hodgensville, Larue County, Kentucky: both remains buried at St. Rose, near Springfield, Washington County, Kentucky.
