Thomas Richard Foushee, 79, Flaherty, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at his residence with his family at his bedside.

Tom was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty. He retired from Fort Knox civil service in 1990 with 36 years of service, including two years in the U.S. Army. Tom lived for his family and loved the farm life. He spent his retirement years working on his land, always improving and leaving things better than he found them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Joe Foushee and Anna Mary Laing Foushee; two brothers, Joseph Marion Foushee and Martin Anthony Foushee; a sister, Regina M. Foushee Lafollette; and a son, Russell Alan Foushee.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Hughes Foushee; four children, Charlotte Foushee Peake and husband, Raymond Howard Peake, Laura Foushee Clement and husband, David Joseph Clement, Richard Thomas Foushee and wife, Pamela Buchheit Foushee and Christina Marie Foushee; seven grandchildren, Sarah Michelle Clement, Jarrod Thomas Foushee, Eleanor Virginia Peake, Kevin Andrew Foushee, twins Daniel Robert and Jacob Ryan Foushee, and Susanne Jacqueline Peake; five brothers, John Louis Foushee, Charles F. Foushee, Lawrence Foushee, Stephen Foushee and David Foushee; five sisters, Kathleen McCamish, Rosanna Sarver, Julia Williams, Martha Jones and Marietta Mullins.

A Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty with the Rev. Anthony L. Chandler officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery.
